Jennifer Dulchavsky, PhD

Jennifer Dulchavsky has a PhD in Clinical Sexology from Modern Sex Therapy Institutes.  She also holds a Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Oakland University, a Master of Science degree in Administration and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Central Michigan University. After 10+ years in hospital administration, Jennifer decided to pursue a career in mental health counseling. After graduating with her Master of Arts degree in Counseling at Oakland University, she opened her own private practice in Commerce Township, MI and has been practicing as a licensed professional counselor for 5 years. She is also a National Certified Counselor.

Jennifer has a passion for working with women who have survived sexual trauma and the New You Foundation was born out of this passion and her desire to help others.  As Jennifer was working with survivors of sexual abuse as well as volunteering at other organizations that support survivors, she noticed that it was such a challenge for women to receive support services help through the healing process as well as financially endure. The New You Foundation is one support system to help provide emergency funding to help survivors during financial hardships.

James P. O’Connor

James P. O’Connor joined the Henry Ford Health System Innovation Institute in March 2021 as an Advisor following his recent retirement as the Senior Vice President of Supply Chain Management for Henry Ford Health System. Jim is assisting HFHS Innovation Institute with commercialization/strategic partnerships, co-development and innovation hubs, education, and training opportunities.

Jim retired from his role as Senior Vice President, Supply Chain Management serving from May 2006 to January 2021. Jim had responsibility for the continuum of Supply Chain Management inclusive of Strategic Sourcing, Procurement to Payment, Logistics & Operations Management, Market Supply Chain Management, Supplier Diversity and Relationship Management, Supply Chain Information Systems and Financial Reporting. Jim served as Chair, Strategic Advisory Committee for Premier Inc. a national GPO. Jim also served as President of MDAHS a cooperative laundry serving Henry Ford, Trinity Health and Michigan Medicine that recently opened a new state-of-the art 100,000 square foot facility in Detroit, Michigan. Henry Ford Health System is a nationally recognized integrated health care organization located in southeastern Michigan.

Prior to joining the Henry Ford Health System, Jim was the Executive Director, Supply Chain Management for Trinity Health, a national Catholic health care organization.

Jim spent much of his early career with the Detroit Medical Center, a regional multi-hospital academic medical center, where Jim served in the capacity as Vice President, Materials Resource Management. Jim has a Bachelor of Science degree in Administration and Graduate Certificate in Health Services Administration from Central Michigan University.

Kathleen O’Connor

Kathleen has worked in healthcare for close to forty years in a variety of capacities including Supply Chain Procurement, Distribution, ERP Systems and Data Analysis. She holds a BA in public administration from the University of Michigan-Flint.

Kathleen is a passionate advocate for women and children’s safety, well-being and healing.

Kathleen O’Connor

Scott Dulchavsky, M.D., Ph.D.

Board Member

Dr. Dulchavsky is currently a professor of surgery, molecular biology and genetics at Wayne State University School of Medicine and Michigan State University. He serves as the Roy D. McClure Chairman of Surgery and the Surgeon in Chief at Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, Michigan. He is the founder and CEO of the Innovation Institute at Henry Ford. He founded several successful companies in the medical device and software industry and manages multiple innovation grants.

Dr. Dulchavsky is a principal investigator for NASA. His research investigates the long-term effects of microgravity on human physiology on astronauts/cosmonauts on the International Space Station and for exploration class spaceflight. This work has been modified for use on the Earth where his team supports on-site care of professional sports teams, the United States Olympic Committee and other worldwide organizations to support maternal care in over 60 countries.

He maintains an active role in local and national medical associations including the American College of Surgeons, where he is the Vice Chair for Technology and Research. He has served on the White House Medical Team to provide regional care for the President of the United States.

Tara Plizga

Tara is a local filmmaker who has been working as a freelance producer for both film and commercials. She wrote and directed her first short film back in 2019 about sexual assault, which is what led her into taking an active role to raise awareness for organizations that support survivors.

She is an instructor at the Motion Picture Institute in Troy and a board member of D.A.F.T. (Digital Arts, Film and Television), a non-profit media-arts educational organization in Michigan.

Jackie is a C-Level Executive Assistant and business operations professional with more than 16 years of experience helping leaders, teams, and organizations work smarter and more efficiently. Currently, she supports the CFO at Tenneco, where she manages projects, streamlines operations, and ensures day-to-day priorities run smoothly.

Previously, Jackie founded Synergy Care Consulting, where she partnered with businesses and medical practices to improve processes, strengthen strategies, and drive growth. Her career has also included roles in hospitality and healthcare management, giving her a well-rounded perspective on leadership, teamwork, and creating meaningful experiences for both clients and colleagues.

Passionate about bringing order to complexity, Jackie excels at building strong relationships and helping organizations achieve their goals with efficiency and integrity.

Neil has been involved with graphic design and 3D content creation professionally across several industries, for over twenty years. He has held various roles within product design, such as, class A surfacer, senior digital designer, and senior visualization specialist. Neil has collaborated with several companies over his career, most recently including Ford Motor Company and TACOM GVSC.
